The Disease Surveillance and Investigation unit is responsible for monitoring and investigating all reportable communicable diseases in Black Hawk County such as, food-borne illnesses, mosquito-borne illnesses, and influenza.

Iowa Administrative Code [641] Chapter 1 requires the reporting of the diseases listed on Reportable Communicable Diseases and Infectious conditions.
