Black Hawk County Public Health is responsible for public health emergency preparedness planning, training and response capabilities developed in coordination with local, regional and statewide preparedness partners. Such emergent situations could include, but are not limited to, natural disasters such as floods or tornados, disease outbreaks as in COVID-19 or a food-borne illness and any bioterrorism events.
Enactment of policies and procedures for:
Disease surveillance and containment measures for public health hazards
Review and revision of inter-agency agreements for facility usage, bio-emergency supply and equipment procurement
