We are grateful for our community’s interest in the COVID-19 vaccine. The demand for vaccine remains very high while the supply, nationwide, and within Black Hawk County is very limited.
The Black Hawk County Health Department is collaborating with MercyOne, UnityPoint, People’s Community Clinic, and independent health care providers to begin the process of offering community members age 65 and older appointments for the COVID-19vaccine. Initial appointments will be scheduled on a very limited basis and specific scheduling instructions will be released in the coming days. Appointments will not be available by calling individual providers or on a walk-in basis.
The Black Hawk County Health Department and our health care partners ask that people please remain patient as we work to vaccinate Black Hawk County. The Black Hawk County Health Department will work to update the public as soon as vaccine is available, and as the availability of vaccine increases.
The Black Hawk County Health Department continues to work with our health care partners to vaccinate the Phase 1A, and to prepare for Phase 1B. To provide additional information to the community, a vaccine page has been added to the Black Hawk County COVID-19 website, www.blackhawkcovid19.com. Additionally, the Black Hawk County Health Department will be holding a press conference on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 2:00pm on our Facebook page to provide additional details about vaccination during Phase 1B.
Please monitor our Facebook page and www.blackhawkcovid19.com website for more information and continued updates on COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccine.
