Black Hawk County Officials Open Emergency Operations Center

COVID-19

In response to COVID-19, Black Hawk County is opening the Emergency Operations Center. This decision is due to the rapidly changing nature of COVID-19. The function of the EOC is to share information and recommendations from disease experts, monitor response activities, and coordinate resources as necessary across the county.

The health department will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 locally. Right now, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Black Hawk County. The health department has implemented a status system to quickly inform the public of any change. The county is currently at an elevated status meaning there are no confirmed cases locally but there are cases in the state along with community spread. That information can be found here.

We encourage the public to take preventative measures such as practicing good hygiene and social distancing. Today, Governor Kim Reynolds issued a State of Public Health Disaster Emergency to limit the community spread. The full declaration can be read here.

Information regarding positive test results can be found here.
